AlanDick strengthens board

Having grown from a £6 million (US$11m) turnover family business in 1992 to a global operation with turnover of over US$300 million in FY 2005/6, AlanDick Group, the international telecoms, mobile, wireless and broadcast infrastructure company, is strengthening its board for the next phase of consolidation and growth.

Following on from the appointment of executive chairman Duncan Lewis in May 2006, two new senior appointments have been made to the AlanDick Group board: Dr Robert Fisher as chief executive officer (CEO) and Parminder Dost as chief financial officer (CFO).

Dr Rob Fisher, CEO, immediately assumes full executive responsibility for the international group of companies. Before joining AlanDick, Fisher was with MCI Europe after serving as CEO of Lend Lease Global Services. Initially entering business as a management consultant with Bain & Co., following his first class honours degree in engineering at Oxford and doctorate in seismology, Fisher spent many years in telecoms with Cable & Wireless ultimately having responsibility for their European businesses.

Remarking on the business opportunity, Fisher said, "AlanDick Group successfully competes in both developed world, and developing world, markets - with opportunities almost wherever you turn. Its competitive advantages stem from its engineering pedigree coupled with first class delivery. It is my challenge to ensure that we leverage those qualities to deliver outstanding performance for our clients - and through this achieve profitable growth for our stakeholders."

Parminder Dost, CFO, joins the board from international telecoms carrier FLAG Telecom, where he was CFO. Dost has significant experience of managing global financial activity through change, particularly at FLAG Telecom, through its IPO (initial public offering), subsequent global expansion and recent successful financial restructuring.

Dost's previous background was in international roles with major corporates British Gas and Bechtel. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Young and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Commenting on his new post, Dost said, "The dynamics of the markets in which AlanDick operates as well as the extent of its international reach bring new financial challenges. I shall be supporting Rob Fisher and the board by ensuring that the company has world class international financial structures in place for stability and growth."

Commenting on the two new appointments, chairman Duncan Lewis, who now hands over the executive element of his role to Fisher said, "We have a fantastic team of people here at AlanDick - all 2000 plus of them around the globe. They have done exceedingly well to grow at such a phenomenal rate and survive the growth pain. We now have a stable, successful operation and we are all looking forward to benefiting from Rob Fisher and Parminder Dost's undoubted skills in taking the company forward into even greater success.”
